We Are The World – Digital Action, Environmental Advocacy, and Celebrating Diversity

The next day of We Are The World combined digital innovation, environmental advocacy, educational discussions, and intercultural celebration. Participants continued their learning journey by discovering how technology can be used as a powerful tool for environmental awareness while also deepening their understanding of international youth opportunities.

The morning started with a delicious French breakfast prepared by the French team. Participants enjoyed traditional crêpes, deviled eggs, cinnamon apples, and other specialties while learning more about French culture and culinary traditions. These shared cultural breakfasts continue to be an important part of the project, allowing participants to experience different cultures through food and conversation.

To start the day with energy and enthusiasm, participants took part in a lively energizer game that quickly filled the room with laughter and positive energy. The activity encouraged interaction, teamwork, and concentration, helping everyone prepare for the learning activities ahead.

Before moving into the main sessions, participants attended a practical information meeting where they received guidance regarding travel reimbursement procedures and administrative requirements. This ensured that everyone clearly understood the next steps related to their participation in the project.

The main learning focus of the morning was Digital Tools for Environmental Advocacy. Working in mixed international groups, participants explored a variety of online platforms and digital resources that can support environmental campaigns and community initiatives. They learned how digital tools can help raise awareness, mobilize communities, collect support for environmental causes, and communicate sustainability messages more effectively. Through teamwork and creative thinking, each group designed its own environmental initiative, combining technology with environmental action.

Following lunch, participants presented their projects to the rest of the group. The presentations demonstrated not only creativity and innovation but also a growing understanding of how digital platforms can be used to influence positive environmental change. Participants shared ideas ranging from awareness campaigns and fundraising initiatives to online educational resources and community engagement strategies. The activity highlighted the importance of combining environmental knowledge with modern digital skills.

The afternoon continued with an engaging discussion focused on Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), and Non-Formal Education. Through an interactive debate format, participants exchanged experiences and explored the differences between formal, informal, and non-formal learning. They discussed how international opportunities such as Erasmus+ and ESC contribute to personal development, intercultural understanding, active citizenship, and employability. Many participants shared their own experiences and reflected on how non-formal learning creates valuable opportunities that often cannot be found in traditional educational settings.

The session encouraged participants to think critically about lifelong learning and inspired many to explore future international opportunities that can help them continue their personal and professional growth.

As the day drew to a close, participants gathered for reflection and evaluation sessions, sharing the most important lessons they had gained throughout the day. Dissemination teams also worked on preparing photos, videos, and social media content to showcase the project's activities and promote its environmental messages to a wider audience.

The highlight of the evening was the French and Cypriot Cultural Night, which transformed the venue into a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity. Participants enjoyed traditional foods, learned interesting facts about both countries, participated in interactive quizzes, and discovered unique customs and traditions. The evening created a welcoming atmosphere where participants could celebrate their differences while recognizing the many values they share.

The day successfully demonstrated how digital innovation, environmental responsibility, and intercultural learning can work hand in hand. Participants left the day with new practical skills, a deeper understanding of international opportunities, and even stronger connections with their fellow participants from across Europe.
