Unfiltered Confidence – Day 8: Looking Back with Gratitude

The final day of Unfiltered Confidence was filled with reflection, appreciation, and celebration. After a week of meaningful discussions, creative activities, intercultural exchanges, and personal growth, participants gathered one last time to look back on their journey and recognise how far they had come.

Over the course of the project, 40 young people from Cyprus, Spain, France, Hungary, and Portugal explored important topics related to body positivity, self-acceptance, mental well-being, media influence, and intercultural understanding. Together, they created a supportive environment where everyone was encouraged to express themselves openly, challenge stereotypes, and embrace their uniqueness.

The day began with Memory Mosaics, a creative activity that allowed participants to revisit the many moments they had shared throughout the week. Using real photographs taken during the project, participants worked together to create visual collages representing their experiences, friendships, achievements, and memories. As they reflected on the images, conversations naturally emerged about personal breakthroughs, favourite activities, and the connections that had been built. The completed mosaics became powerful reminders of a journey filled with learning, laughter, courage, and growth.

The reflection process continued through Youthpass Mastery, where participants explored the skills and competences they had developed throughout the project. Through guided discussions and self-assessment exercises, they identified improvements in areas such as communication, teamwork, intercultural awareness, problem-solving, creativity, self-confidence, and emotional intelligence. Participants also discussed how they could apply these newly developed competences in their studies, careers, local communities, and future international projects. The session helped transform personal experiences into recognised learning outcomes, making participants more aware of the value of non-formal education.

One of the most emotional moments of the entire project came during the activity Letter to My Body. Participants were invited to write personal letters expressing thoughts, feelings, gratitude, and promises to themselves. For many, this was an opportunity to reflect honestly on their relationship with their bodies and acknowledge the challenges they had faced throughout their lives. The activity encouraged self-compassion and acceptance, allowing participants to replace self-criticism with understanding and appreciation. The room was filled with emotion as participants recognised how much their perspectives had evolved during the project.

The afternoon focused on future opportunities through the Project Draft session. Participants learned practical approaches to project planning, teamwork, and developing ideas that could create positive change in their local communities. Drawing on the experiences gained throughout the week, they explored how Erasmus+ projects are designed and discussed ways to transform their own ideas into meaningful initiatives. The session empowered participants to remain active beyond the project and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the values they had explored during the exchange.

Before the project officially concluded, participants took part in the Final Evaluation. Through individual reflections, group discussions, and feedback activities, they assessed their personal learning journey and the overall impact of the project. Many participants highlighted increased self-confidence, stronger intercultural understanding, improved communication skills, and a healthier perspective on body image and self-worth. Comparing their feelings and attitudes from the beginning of the project to those at the end, participants could clearly see the positive changes they had experienced.

As the final evening arrived, emotions were mixed. There was pride in everything that had been achieved, gratitude for the friendships that had been formed, and sadness that the experience was coming to an end. Yet there was also a shared understanding that the project was not truly ending, it was simply beginning a new chapter in the lives of the participants.

Unfiltered Confidence was more than a youth exchange. It was a journey of self-discovery, acceptance, empowerment, and connection. Throughout eight unforgettable days in Polis Chrysochous, participants learned that confidence is not about perfection but about embracing who we are, respecting our differences, and supporting one another.

As we say goodbye to this incredible project, we do so with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and the hope that our paths will cross again in future Erasmus+ adventures.
