Unfiltered Confidence – Day 3: Affirming Ourselves, Together

The third day of Unfiltered Confidence brought another meaningful step forward in our journey toward self-acceptance, body positivity, and intercultural understanding. The project continues to create a supportive environment where young people can reflect on their self-image, challenge stereotypes, and learn from one another’s experiences. The morning began with a special Cultural Breakfast prepared by the Cypriot team. Participants had the opportunity to discover local flavours, traditions, and stories while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere together. These moments of informal cultural exchange helped strengthen friendships and reminded everyone that diversity is one of the greatest strengths of our European community.

Following the breakfast, participants joined an energiser session that filled the room with positive energy and laughter. The organisers then officially welcomed everyone to the learning activities of the day, setting the tone for discussions focused on confidence, self-worth, and personal growth.

One of the first educational sessions of the day introduced participants to the Erasmus+ Programme and Youthpass. Many participants learned more about how Erasmus+ supports young people across Europe and how Youthpass helps recognise the knowledge, skills, and competences developed through non-formal learning experiences. The session encouraged participants to become more aware of their own learning journey and the opportunities available to them beyond the project.

A particularly inspiring activity was the creation of the project's Affirmation Wall. Each national group selected positive messages and daily mantras that reflected self-love, resilience, and confidence. Throughout the day, participants added encouraging words and motivational statements to the wall, transforming it into a colourful space filled with positivity. The activity demonstrated how simple words can have a powerful impact on self-esteem and emotional well-being.

The highlight of the day was the intercultural activity I Love My Body Around the World. Participants wrote affirmations in their native languages and shared their meanings with the rest of the group. As different languages filled the room, participants discovered that despite cultural differences, the desire for self-acceptance and kindness toward ourselves is universal. The activity beautifully connected body positivity with intercultural learning, showing how cultures across Europe express encouragement, appreciation, and self-love in unique ways.

Throughout the discussions, participants reflected on how social expectations, media influences, and cultural norms can affect the way people see themselves. By sharing personal perspectives and listening to others, they developed greater empathy and understanding while challenging unrealistic beauty standards and stereotypes.

As the sun began to set over Polis Chrysochous, participants gathered for a reflection session to look back on the experiences of the day. Many expressed how the activities helped them feel more confident, more connected to the group, and more aware of the importance of treating themselves with kindness. Others highlighted how hearing affirmations in different languages reinforced the idea that body positivity is a message that transcends borders.

Day 3 reminded us that confidence grows when we support one another, celebrate our differences, and recognise our own value beyond appearance. Through dialogue, creativity, and intercultural exchange, participants continued building a community where every individual feels seen, respected, and empowered to embrace their authentic self.
